ARRK’s Rapid Prototyping division have extended the range of stereolithography materials on offer to clients by adding a new water-clear resin to its line up. The new Huntsman SL 7870 material offers a glass-like appearance along with excellent component strength and an ABS like performance. The material is also dimensionally stable in a humid environment. The new material means ARRK can now offer its clients a choice of 8 different resins. Craig Vickers, MD for ARRK’s RP division, commented: “The wide range of materials we have on offer, through our fleet of 12 SLA machines, allows us to find the most appropriate material for our clients’ needs. Whether you need a model built in a flexible material, a higher heat temperature resistance, an aesthetically pleasing and tough white resin, or a glass-like material, we have a resin to suit.”

Following product development specialists ARRK’s announcement in January stating their intention to merge their four UK companies into ARRK Europe Ltd the company has unveiled their new, integrated website. Tony Lowe, ARRK UK’s Group MD, commented: “The new integrated website, www.arrkeurope.com, covers all of ARRK’s services, making it a comprehensive source for all of our customers’ needs. The new website bears the name of the new company, so is easier for our customers to remember, and removes the need to visit separate company websites. Whether you’re looking for employment opportunities through our recruitment placement service, design engineering, prototyping, composites or tooling and low volume manufacturing, it can all be accessed via the new site”. The launch of the web site follows the completion of phase one of ARRK’s integration programme: the merger of NPL Technologies and ARRK R&D into ARRK Europe Ltd at the beginning of April. Tony Lowe concluded: “I am delighted to report our progress within the integration programme and I look forward to announcing further improvements to ARRK’s UK operations in due course”. NPL Technologies Ltd, has changed its name to ARRK Europe Ltd, as part of the forthcoming merger, which was announced earlier this year. The move follows the global product development specialist’s January announcement stating their intention to unite all four of their UK companies into one. Phase one being the name change followed by the merge of ARRK R&D Ltd into ARRK Europe Ltd by the end of March, with ARRK PDG (Prototyping) and ARRK Tooling (Tooling & Moulding) following at a later date. ARRK R&D’s proposed move into ARRK Europe remains on course for the end of March. This article was published on 1st March 2010
Global Product Development specialists ARRK have announced their intention to unite their four UK companies into one company. The move, unveiled by Chairman ToshihiroAraki, will be driven by the Managing Director of ARRK’s UK operations, Tony Lowe, and is intended to offer clients the benefit of a wide range of integrated services from this single source company. The new company will be called ARRK Europe Ltd. This new entity will allow greater coordination of services for its customers in design, engineering, prototyping, tooling and low volume manufacturing. Traditionally the four ARRK businesses have operated independently, coordinating their activities where required to meet customer needs. Creating a single company will simplify customer access by providing the opportunity for a dedicated point of contact for multidisciplinary projects and shared resources. This will potentially reduce programme development time and introduce greater efficiencies. In addition, ARRK Europe Ltd will be able to enhance its full line capability from design to production, delivering best in class for service and product development. ARRK R&D Ltd and NPL Technologies Ltd will begin the transition by merging into ARRK Europe Ltd by the end of March. It is ARRK’s intention to merge its two other mainstream businesses, ARRK PDG(Prototyping) and ARRK Tooling (Tooling & Moulding), into the new company at a later date. Tony Lowe explains: “It is well known within the industry that ARRK offers a wide variety of services, however, it has sometimes been difficult for our customers to appreciate the full service offering and how we have worked together over the years. By joining forces as one entity, our customers now have the ideal solution for their product development and low volume manufacturing needs. Customers can choose to continue to use our services on an individual basis or they can benefit from our integrated full line design to market solution. These services include design, engineering, prototyping, tooling and low volume manufacturing – all from one company. The unification of our businesses will result in a stronger and more adaptable organisation benefiting customers across the UK and mainland Europe. We have set ourselves the challenge of completing this integration by the end of the year, during which time we will maintain the high level of quality and service our customers have come to expect.” This article was published on 26th January 2010
